Hao Zhou Dao Porridge Steamboat
Today afternoon, I meet up with Janice and Claire to go to This Fashion @ Paya Lebar. Well the ranges like nothing much, because a lot left with small sizes only. Haiz..So could not find much clothes. But well anyway I got 3 tops for my office. Haha...
Later we went to Bugis Street to shop, went to Lavendar Closet but the range don't suit us. Then went to OG and then intend to have an early dinner at the hawker center but then it was super crowded and so we decided to go to AMK hawker for our dinner. Before we walk to the hawker, we pass by Hao Zhou Dao porridge steamboat at Blk 712, Ang Mo Kio Central. And heard that it is not bad and we decided to have that for dinner. Haha...
It is a steamboat buffet which cost $15NETT per person. I am super impressed by the freshness and variety of food being offered, they actually use fresh dory fish. It was really very fresh and good. Then as usual those steamboat foods, sausages, fish ball, sotong ball, pork, chicken, beef, fish slices, sotong, cuttlefish, noodles, rice, dong fen, seaweed, tofu, egg, beancurd skin, mushrooms, veggies etc. They offer a lot of veggies, wow more than I seen at other place. Haha...Their prawns were quite good also lor, not like those small small one, they offer middle size and most importantly they are very fresh. I love the pig liver and the fish. Wow super yummy lor.
There are 3 stocks to choose from, chicken, tom yam and porridge. We took tom yam and porridge. Wow the porridge one is very delicious lor. I love that very much. You can taste the sweetness of the stock in the porridge, I think they cook with sweet potato because I saw bits of orange filling. Tom yam soup also not bad. But I like the porridge more because I don't really like to eat hot soup. They also offer ready fried springrolls, chicken nuggets etc...which can be eaten straight away. Drinks is provided as well. And whats more, they also have ice cream for dessert, haha those traditional potong ice cream. Wow it have been a long time since I have that ice cream. LOL...And I ate 3 of them - Yam, Red Bean & Chendol.
It is such a good deal right. Everything for just $15 nett for weekend dinner. Haha...It was really very nice and yummy lor. This is the 1st time that we actually ate a lot, 2 or 3 servings and then finished up all the foods we took. And then we are still not 100% full lor. There is still room for foods but we maintain at 95%, don't want to overeat. LOL...In the past, we always cannot finished the foods that we took and we just took 2 servings only and we are over 100% full and then we will be busy covering up all our foods. Haha...The experience at this place is really different from what we had at other place. Maybe because the foods and soup base is nicer here ba and therefore we can eat more. Haha...Environment also not bad. Although may not be like those restaurant or hotel type but it is very comfortable, it is not stuffy at all. They got indoor and outdoor. We tried the indoor with air con, it is not bad, though not very cold but not very stuffy. Athough the indoor a bit small, but the foods counter are just next to us, 垂手可得. I think outdoor is better because it is open air and then they have install a lot of fans. So it is very cooling when we walk pass. Haha...I missed the porridge base. It is really super nice and yummy lor. LOL...
Best recommend to go. Must go and try.
