2nd Day Of Orientation

Today morning, I meet 2 of my new colleagues at the gate and we walked into the building together. I went to punch in and then went up to the room to find them. Slack inside the room until 9am then start the day 2 activities. Oh ya there is another additional staff joining us too, she is from National Sale Manager work DHL for 1 week only. Er, think she is 27 years old and this is her 2nd job, 1st job was @ UPS. Wow actually quite young lah but i think she is a bit dao ba. Don't know leh. Maybe I think too much le. Haha...The talk was quite boring. I almost fall asleep. So sleepy. I think got about 3 different presenters from HR. All they talk about is HR lor, how HR work, staffs benefits, activities, dressing, conduct and stuffs. Actually honestly speaking, the staff benefits was quite good. Haha...If no take MC also got extra points and these points can be used to buy things or convert to cash but if convert to cash it will deduct CPF liao le because it is added into salary. Then leave also will increase to 18 when work 5 years and above. 10 years and above 21 days. Actually same as Taka lah. Haha...But 1 thing not same is the long service award. In Taka work 5 years only I think $200. Here at DHL is quite a lot which I forgot le, I only remember 30 years $3000. Haha...

Then we went for our free lunch Nasi Lemak @ 6th Floor Training Room with DHL Top Management. Wow, we felt a bit scary lah. Because like never had the chance to meet top management before. But luckily there are 2 of us who attended the orientation are from managers post. So basically they do the talking more and the rest just sit and listen. Haha...Sound like what leh. Before we start our lunch, we have to introduce ourselves and they also introduce themselves. We meet the newly appointed General Manager who oversee Singapore. He look quite handsome, but is mature kind handsome not those young handsome. Anyway he is married and got kids liao le. Haha...I also not interested lah. Handsome is everybody say before I meet him.

Actually our General Manager is very friendly and is just transferred from Thailand to Singapore on 1st of Feb. He don't look like from Thai but rather from Hong Kong. And in fact his father is from Hong Kong, mother is Singaporean. But he grew up in Thailand. So confusing leh. Don't know if he is consider Thai mah. But his surname is Thai leh. Haha...And we think he look a bit like Jackie Chan leh. Er well he do have a little which is a little Thai accent. But if we don't say he is from Thai, I think we also will not noticed he is from Thai. We did learn something from him when he talk to us. Wow impressed.

We really don't know what to say. We just listen only. One month later, we will have lunch again together and catch up. Wow...Fainted. I don't know what to say lor. Haha...But I am beginning to love DHL. Haha...I am really impressed with how DHL work. Really totally different from other company. I am really looking forward in working there long. I don't want to keep changing and I really hope this will be my future long run job. If I need to change, I hope maybe can transfer to another department to learn other new things.

After lunch, we have a quick look and briefing of the service centre (warehouse) and then courier run. We are all attached to a delivery man each to follow them around, delivery and picking up delivery and back to office. But so coincidence, the courier that I am attached is going to the area where I am staying and his delivery mostly on residential and today not much delivery need to do, just 3 small documents. In the van, he just told me how they work. Like collect the delivery and then set off. Then reach the place, greet customers, let them check their items, sign the papers. Then pickup will be from a device that centre will sent to them asking them to go and pick up and then go back to office and punch out 6pm and end the day. By the way pickup will start only from 3pm to 6pm. In the end, he just drove me back home. And I reached home 2.30pm. Wow...Just work half day only leh. He say there is nothing much to learn, just like that only lor so he let me go back lor. Haha...I did not get to see how they deliver and I just hop on the van and just drove me home. Cool...Actually is heng I no need to go back office to report out. If not, I will really have to follow him until off work time. After dropping me off, he say he go and find place to hide mean to slack first because it was still early. Haha...

He had been working for 5 years and all these years, can imagine how many orientation staffs he had bring out. Haha...And he told me got once, a lady step onto the van and asked him 1st question can send her home mah. He have not even asked her and she asked him first. And of course first have to ask her where she stay if too far, that is out of the way le lor. Before we set off, he also asked me where I stay. Then he say I so luckily. Haha...Last month also got 1 who live @ Bishan and they went to Ang Mo Kio for delivering and after that he send her back. He say all very luckily, mean all quite a few previous one all very heng also lor.

I am really very lucky in whatever things that I do. Haha...And I really Thank God for everything. Today I learnt from the rest of CS that before they get in, they got a series of tests to do. Wow...I did not do any leh, really none of them. Wow I so lucky lor. Before we set off, we check with the HR and she say afterward when we came back to office can just go off le, no need to report to her and she won't me seeing us again until tomorrow. Then we chat ourselves, in that case, later we check with the courier see can alight us at nearest location to our own place instead of going back to office. Haha...And it turn out I really drop off at my house downstair. I wonder how is the rest. Actually courier nothing much lah, just take the things and go out to deliver them lor. Then go various place to pickup things that need to ship out and get back to office by end of the day. Anyway I am not under delivery section, so just know will do lah. And I can learn along the way too. Wow can slack at home but cannot msn because if I online, my colleagues will see me how come online while I should be out courier run. Haha...

Okay lah, I stop my story for today. Going to take some nap le. Sleepy.
